I'm a Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach and Certified Functional Aging Specialist...and I was Extremely Overweight all of my life until I hit 30, battling with YoYo dieting!

I was 90kgs at my heaviest, very very unfit, lacked confidence and had struggled all of my life to lose weight. I was bullied relentlessly for my weight and it literally had a long lasting effect on me.
At 30 I had just moved to New Zealand, and I made a decision to no longer settle for this overweight life and took massive action with some not so healthy diets and fitness programmes.
I knew this was unsustainable and I knew there was a better way.
So I studied to become a Personal Trainer and Nutrition coach to learn how to break my cycle of yo yo dieting and the damage it was doing for my self-confidence, happiness and health.
At the time I was looking to start a family and needed to be healthy for my son.
I also wanted to be a role model for him, so as he grows up he'll never to have to worry about being overweight like I was.
Slowly, I figured out how to manage my weight while not working out 8 times a week. I started taking on clients most of which were over 40.
I tested things on myself, and on my clients, some things failed some things worked.
Then I began suffering some serious knee injuries of which I needed 6 knee surgeries over 6 years BUT I was able to keep my weight off even when I couldn’t workout properly.
I developed and adapted exercises for myself and then my clients who were also riddled with injuries, to help them achieve their goals and their best lives despite injuries.
The programme I developed sits outside the norm as people over 40 need something that isn’t the norm.
During my rehab process I met my now business partner and friend Alex who is my physio and we teamed up to create the Award Winning Growing Younger programme which to date has helped over 500 people over 40, both in NZ and abroad, to lose an average of 20kgs and dramatically improve their lives.
Before Cara started with us, like me, she had struggled with her weight all her life. Her weight problems began at 12 and had seemingly tried everything.
She failed so many times that she had to succumb to Gastric bypass in 90’s, which is a very unpleasant procedure... but she was desperate to lose weight.
However, after going through all that pain and discomfort she eventually put ALL the weight back on.
Why? Because she never learned how to do it properly.
Her stomach was smaller but her eating habits and mindset never really changed!

Fast forward to now....She slowly became depressed & unhappy, and her weight had such a significant impact on her life that she couldn’t climb the stairs at home, she was nearing on having a formal weight induced disability.
She was so desperate for a solution and visited a lot of dieticians and so called specialists and the advice she was given just never worked for her. It was all generic, and simply not appropriate for her.
That’s when she read about the Growing Younger Programme in the local newspaper.
Naturally she was extremely sceptical, but with our simple motivation hack we use in the book, we were able to remove her 'I can’t.’
